FAQs

What is Halo?

Halo is an IoT, web-based platform that is accessed, monitored and controlled via an online dashboard.

How does Halo work?

Data is collected through various sensors and is sent in real-time through a central ‘Gateway’ to a server and stored securely. All source data analytics is managed through the Halo Dashboard, available on any web-enabled device.

What is the Halo Dashboard?

The Halo Dashboard is a web interface which gives you access to the information and data from your system. The Halo Dashboard is how you view, control and configure the Halo hardware installed on your site.

How does Halo's pricing model work?

Halo imposes an initial variable fee for hardware and installation services. Following installation, there is an annual data fee for each individual Halo connection, encompassing GSM data connectivity, secure cloud-based storage, text message allowances (up to 50 per month), managed web access, access to the Halo Dashboard, continuous system monitoring, and ongoing maintenance. These future data charges are billed directly on an annual basis in advance.

Where is Halo used?

Halo is primarily used throughout Australasia in a range of agriculture, horticulture, commercial, and local government applications.

Where can I get help and support?

Halo has a dedicated support desk who are available to assist, troubleshoot or remotely diagnose should you experience any issues. View our support page here.

Can Halo integrate with third party platforms?

Yes. The Halo platform provides a highly adaptable and unified environment, facilitating seamless interconnectivity with a broad spectrum of cloud services, applications, and systems. To meet the diverse demands of our customers, we offer an array of integrations, such as API integrations, SFTP server uploads, and email reports. Moreover, our platform offers the flexibility to either pull or push data at customizable intervals, tailored to the specific needs of the application.

Can I add other systems to my existing Halo System?

Yes. Halo is modular in approach allowing for seamless integration for future expansion.

Does Halo work with partners?

Yes. Halo is agnostic and works with a multitude of specialists (consultants, engineers, electricians, etc). We also maintain an extensive contractor and dealer network throughout Australasia.

How do I log in to the Halo Dashboard?

Simply head to the Halo Dashboard login screen and enter your login details.

How do alerts work?

Alerts are how the Halo system communicates problems or urgent system information to users. These are primarily sent as SMS (text) messages to a cell phone but can be configured as email alerts that can be sent to a user’s email address. Multiple users can be signed up for the same alerts or subscribed to different alerts per user. Escalation lists are an added safeguard of Halo's alert system. Lists are used to subscribe users to module alerts and will message users based on priority and delay settings.

What is Halo's approach to data security?

Ensuring data security is of paramount importance to the Halo platform. To safeguard the data, we implement the following key considerations:

  • Access Control: Access to data is tightly controlled based on user roles and permissions, allowing users to access only the data they need to carry out their tasks.
  • Authentication: The platform provides secure authentication mechanisms, to prevent unauthorised access.
  • Monitoring: The Halo platform is continuously monitored for any suspicious activity or attempts to access data without proper authorization.
  • Backup and Recovery: We have backup and recovery mechanisms in place to ensure that data can be quickly restored in the event of a breach or data loss.
  • Education and Training: We regularly provide education and training to our platform users and administrators on best practices for data security and privacy.

Overall, Halo’s comprehensive approach to data security involves a combination of technical controls, policies, and procedures designed to protect user data from unauthorised access, use, and disclosure. By prioritising data security, we can ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our users' data.
